Swim lessons at Great Waves Waterpark are a great way for your kids to brush up on their water skills. Lessons are available for the youngest beginners to age 11. Registration for classes is now open.

Climb UPton is a 90 element vertical adventure located next to Ocean Dunes Waterpark.  This adrenaline pumping climbing course is perfect for guests of (almost) all ages!  With varying levels of difficulty, climbers can choose their challenge with easy, medium and hard features on all 3 levels!  Book a 2 hour climbing session today!

Climb UPton is a similar activity to trekking. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes, and drink plenty of water before you climb!

Orienteering is a fun and exciting sport for everyone, regardless of age or experience.  From the start point, participants try to find a series of markers located throughout Fountainhead Regional Park. Participants will use navigation and map reading skills to choose routes — both on and off trail — to find all the markers and get back to the finish point.

Orienteering is typically a racing event, in which participants compete against each other to finish a course in the fastest time.  However, anyone just looking to get out and enjoy the forest at a leisurely pace may also use these courses, as a sort of guided walk.

Have you ever wanted to know more about our local flora and learn how to ID them? Experience a self-guided hike through our park and see over 20 different species of native trees! Each featured tree on the hike will be labeled with its species name and a QR code that, once scanned with your mobile device, will provide the natural history of that tree and identifying characteristics. Glide across the ice at Ice & Lights, The Winter Village at Cameron Run in Alexandria, Virginia. The waterpark is transformed mid-November through February into a winter wonderland with an ice rink, beautifully lit photo ops, music and more! Grab a slice of  pizza, roast a marshmallow over the fire pits, and enjoy the winter village.

Temple Hall Farm offers customized programs for both boy and girl scouts. The cost is $5 per scout with a minimum of 10 people or $50 for the 1-1.5 hour long program. Please contact the park at templehallfarm@nvrpa.org to schedule your program.

 

Our interpretive naturalist staff is eager to work with you to plan and tailor programs according to individual needs, interests, and age groups.
