Virginia Chamber Orchestra musicians return for their 12th season, performing in our Korean Bell Garden - with A Brass Quintet. Grab your blankets or bag chairs and enjoy Music in the Gardens!
The VCO Brass Quintet:
- Teri Lazar and Bill Tortolano, violins; Osman Kivrak, viola; George Ohlson, viola and viola d’amore; Marion Baker, cello
- Features the premiere of Virginia composer Rob Vuono’s “Improvisations on a Theme for Violin and Viola”. Mr. Vuono will attend and share insights about his composition.
- Also includes a string quintet by the revolutionary-era American composer Johann Friedrich Peter, “Two Sketches” by Charles Griffes, and “Danzas de Panama” by William Grant Still.
Please note: It is approximately an 8-minute walk from the Visitor Center (and its restrooms) to the concert location. Concerts may be delayed or cancelled in the event of inclement weather. On sunny days, a personal umbrella is a good idea, but tents are not permitted.
Music in the Gardens concerts are free with regular garden admission ($5-$9) or garden membership. On your way to the Korean Bell Garden, stop by the Garden Patio next to the Visitor Center to purchase light snacks, soda, water, beer, and wine at the Snack Shack.
