Mother’s Day Weekend Morning Retreat: Forest Bathing, Stories, & Tea
Next Date
Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend surrounded by spring’s fullness at Potomac Overlook Regional Park during a Saturday morning retreat.
Slow down with forest bathing and journaling in the comfort of nature—whether attending as a mother, sharing the experience with a mother, or simply seeking a deeper connection with the natural world. This restorative experience is open to adults ages 18 and up and is guided by certified nature therapy guide and story weaving facilitator Ilana Rubin of Kindred Nature.
Through sensory-based nature connection invitations, peaceful moments of reflection, guided journaling, and optional sharing, participants will experience the joy of being present with spring’s abundance. The program concludes with tea and light snacks beneath the leafy canopy, honoring the nurturing spirit found throughout nature.
No experience is needed. The walk will be less than one mile at a contemplative pace over a variety of terrain (paved/unpaved, flat/sloped), with activities adaptable to individual comfort levels. This program offers a meaningful way to extend Mother’s Day observance into the day before the holiday. Participants may attend individually for quiet reflection or share the experience with someone special.
