Lecture Series: “Remember the Ladies”: The Women of the American Revolution
Next Date
The history of the Revolutionary War is often viewed as a man’s story, as they were often on the front lines and making the seemingly vital decisions. However, appearances can be deceiving. Honor Women’s History Month at Carlyle House as public historian Mary Cooper presents the critical roles women played in the Revolutionary War—both on the front lines and on the home front. This lecture will explore, on a broad scale, the role of women, while also highlighting key figures in American Revolutionary history, and exploring the actions of Virginia women during the time that tried both men's and women's souls.
$12 per person.
