Carlyle House Historic Park
An Afternoon of 18th Century Mocktails

Next Date
When colonists arrived from England, one popular method of preserving berries was to cover them with vinegar and allow them to ferment, eventually creating shrubs or drinking vinegars. These shrubs were then used to flavor water, soda, and even mixed into cocktails! And what pairs perfectly with shrub? Cheese!
On November 1, explore three different shrub flavors paired with complementary cheeses in the Carlyle Gardens.
