Welcome America's 5th president, James Monroe, back to Aldie Mill, a place he knows well from his residence at nearby Oak Hill. Colonel Monroe, as he prefers to be known, will discuss the August 1825 visit by his friend and Revolutionary War comrade. While in Loudoun County, General Lafayette visited Oak Hill, Leesburg, Belmont and Temple Hall Farm. Monroe will also reflect on Lafayette's service during the American Revolution.
