W&OD Trail – Through May 2026: Dominion Energy will be conducting tree work between Reston and Herndon.
Dominion Energy has identified areas that require General Maintenance in the Town of Herndon, Fairfax County, and the community of Reston. To maintain safe and reliable clearances for the transmission lines, structures, and substations, tree pruning and removal will occur along 3.8 miles of the W&OD Trail. Dominion Energy has identified one area in the Town of Herndon that requires major maintenance. Dominion crews will also work to remove invasive vegetation due to its potential for harming the trail’s native environment.
The trail will remain open during this maintenance.
