Bull Run Marina was once a farm where enslaved people were buried.

Now a sign has gone up in that park — Bull Run Marina in Clifton — explaining its newly uncovered history to visitors.

“Unlike many park systems, our mission, in addition to creating places for recreation, is to ensure our shared historic places are conserved and our stories memorialized, even if those stories hold up a mirror to some of our worst moments,” NOVA Parks’ Chairperson Cate Magennis Wyatt said in a statement.
