W&OD Trail - April 15-August 2024: Dominion Energy will repaint transmission structures adjacent to the W&OD Trail.
Dominion Energy's Electric Transmission Operations & Maintenance team will repaint transmission structures adjacent to the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail in Fairfax County, the City of Falls Church, and Arlington County between April 15 and August 2024. Crews will strip peeling paint and repaint approximately 40 structures between W&OD Trail Mile Markers 5.5 and 8.5.
The W&OD Trail will remain open during this maintenance. For everyone’s safety, temporary tent scaffolding, a secure work perimeter, and signage will be in place. Community members may hear equipment noise, see personnel climbing structures, and experience intermittent lane closures on the trail and adjacent roads. After maintenance is complete, the structures will be restored to a dull gray color that matches the previous finish and will continue to meet reliability standards.
