Find the events that interest you, then click the registration link to go directly to the program for registration through our new ONLINE registration process. Once you are registered, you can use your login information for all of your programs and also for camp registration next year! If you have any questions, please contact the park where the program is being offered.

A Bug's Life

Potomac Overlook Regional Park, Arlington, VA

Come explore the unbee-lievable lives of bugs here at Potomac Overlook! In this excell-ant new program we will be searching the park for bugs in the air, land, and water, and discovering the importance of these leggy friends. Play a pollinator game with us to see what the buzz is about!  We will end the program with a crafty competition down by the stream, so dress for walking in the woods and swarm weather.

Frog Frenzy!

Potomac Overlook Regional Park, Arlington, VA

Warm weather and lots of rain means our pond has become hopping mad with amphibians! Come check out the frogs and toads we have at the nature center and learn how they are changing with the return of warmer weather. Then go netting at our frog pond with our naturalist and end the day by making your own frog craft!

Leaf your cares behind and come on down to this Poplar program! Learn how to identify our native trees, how they grow, what external threats they face, and more in this class that will have you pining for more dendro knowledge.  Don’t stay rooted to the spot, come branch out and explore with us!

Raptors of the Potomac

Potomac Overlook Regional Park, Arlington, VA

Soar on down to this program about our local avian predators! Learn about our native birds of prey and the amazing adaptations they use to hunt, and then meet the raptors we care for at the park. Watch our naturalist feed a live bird of prey, and then make your own soaring “raptors” in a paper airplane challenge!

The Hisstory of Snakes

Potomac Overlook Regional Park, Arlington, VA

Slither on down to a program all about our local serpents! Learn about the natural history of our snakes, why they’re so important (and often misunderstood) and what makes them such incredible animals. Watch our naturalist feed our snakes mice and then finish the program by making a snake craft! You’ll be saying fangs for the memories after this one.
