The Occoquan Regional Park sits at the intersection of hiking and history, where water resources meet water demand. Join ICPRB’s Executive Director, Mike Nardolilli, as we explore the interplay of water demand, politics, zoning, water quality, and the challenges they present. The hike was developed in partnership with the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
Expect to walk a little over 3 miles on flat, easy terrain. Please bring a bottle of water, snacks and a bug-repellent of your choice. The walk will be canceled in the event of anything stronger than light rain.
We will meet at the Brickmaker’s Cafe (9751 Ox Rd, Lorton, VA) at 10:00 am. Expect the hike to take around 2 hours. Feel free to stay after the hike and enjoy lunch at the Brickmaker’s Cafe.
This event is free but please RSVP via the Facebook event page or email Renee Bourassa at email@example.com so that we can provide an update in the case of inclement weather.
This event is part of ICPRB’s 2019 Walk in the Woods series of hikes throughout the Potomac watershed.
